
Leadership Opportunities in Hospital and Health Board Governance

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced individuals to take on a leadership role in hospital and health board governance. The Department of Health Queensland is seeking applications from suitably qualified professionals to fill various vacancies across the state.
As a board chair or member, you will play a vital part in ensuring the delivery of high-quality healthcare services to local communities. This involves governing the provision of healthcare across 16 regions, with accountability to the Minister for Health and Ambulance Services.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess expertise in one or more of the following areas:
- Healthcare management
- Business acumen
- Human resource management
- Clinical expertise (including experience within the geographical area of the board)
- Legal knowledge
- Primary care
- Community engagement
- Indigenous health and community issues
You will demonstrate exceptional leadership and strategic thinking skills, as well as strong commercial acumen and governance expertise. You will also be expected to build relationships with local communities and stakeholders to strengthen engagement and cooperation.
The remuneration package for these roles is governed by Queensland Government guidelines. We encourage applications from First Nations peoples, women, people with expertise in multiculturalism, young people, and people with disability.
