We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Statutory Planner to join our Growth Areas Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering new and emerging growth area activity centres, subdivisions, housing, and infrastructure approvals.
Key Responsibilities- Facilitate the assessment and issue of planning permits and approvals for land use, development, and subdivision proposals, including within growth areas.
- Provide a professional and customer-focused planning advisory service, in a team environment.
- Represent the City in public forums, legal proceedings, and appeal hearings.
- Mentor junior staff as required.
- A good understanding of town planning legislation and practices, and the ability to interpret their meaning.
- Well-developed analytical, investigative, interpretative, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to resolve conflict and negotiate outcomes.
- Ability to effectively plan, organize, and manage own time to achieve targets within a set timetable.
- Strong teamwork ethos.
- Willingness to mentor staff.
To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in Town Planning, Urban Studies, or a similar related field, and substantial experience in local government town planning.
