Education Support Role

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to join our team as an Education Support Class position at Garrang Wilam Primary School.

This role will play a vital part in supporting the educational services provided to our students. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing routine support for teachers, including assisting with student routines and communicating with parents on matters related to students.
  • Supporting communication between teachers and parents, as well as providing basic physical care and wellbeing support for students such as toileting, meals, and lifting.
  • Communicating with students to support comprehension of basic tasks and information, addressing immediate behavioural presentations relating to specific students within a classroom setting aligned to school policy and procedure.
  • Providing basic support and supervision for individuals or groups of up to 4 students within a classroom setting, as well as supporting teachers in the coordination of educational programs independently or under minimal supervision.
  • Assisting teachers with the communication of student outcomes and educational programs, providing medical intervention support to students under specific conditions with appropriate training and guidance, and providing specialised communication support for students and teachers in areas such as AUSLAN and braille.
