This exciting opportunity is available to recently graduated individuals who are interested in working in water resource management to gain skills and experience addressing Queensland's greatest challenge of a reliable and sustainable future for our water resources.
Job Description:The successful candidate will be required to work collaboratively on the development of water plans across catchments for sustainable water management. This includes conducting water planning activities within a Region, coordinating input from associated multi-disciplinary teams, and delivering output for water planning functions and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Drafting policy papers and recommendations for the development of water plans, supporting instruments, and other water planning documents in line with Queensland Water Act 2000 requirements.
- Undertaking technical reviews to inform the development of water management solutions and policy, and liaising with technical experts from various disciplines to inform the technical review.
- Conducting desktop research, data collection, interpretation, and analysis to inform the assessment of a range of water management and policy issues.
- Assisting with consultation with internal and external clients.
- Preparing policy papers, briefing notes, and other correspondence as required.
- Contributing to analysis and interpretation of existing National and State Government strategies, policies, and legislation in relation to efficient and sustainable management of Queensland's water resources.
