About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at ACOR Consultants. As a key member of our mechanical services team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality projects across various industries, including health, commercial, industrial, and defence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the provision of mechanical services within Perth and supporting the ACOR Group on a national basis.
  • Production of project documentation to an end client standard, including drawings, reports, specifications, and project advice notices.
  • Manage and support mechanical projects or sub-projects to achieve mechanical deliverables.
  • Support mechanical projects or sub-projects to assist Project Directors/Project Leaders.
  • Apply professional judgement progressively to more difficult tasks.
  • Provide mentoring and training for junior staff.
  • Manage drafting staff and BIM designers on a project basis.
  • Assure that project milestones and deadlines are met.
  • Track, time, and budget to invoicing and cash flow are appropriately managed.
  • Project lead multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Undertake professional development training, development, and experience using a variety of standard engineering methods and procedures.
  • Prepare fee submissions for key clients and manage client relationships.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including client and project prospecting and pursuits, procurement, and client relationships.
  • Contribute to business planning and strategic direction activities.
  • Contribute to standards, templates, and similar documents used to communicate mechanical requirements, deliverables, and the like.
Requirements
  • Minimum 7 years experience in Mechanical Engineering within a building services engineering consultancy.
  • Bachelor's Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent tertiary qualification.
  • Member of Engineer's Australia and Chartered Professional Engineer (or on path to achieving).
  • A strong working knowledge with a range of relevant design software packages.
  • Experience in designing mechanical services in multiple sectors, including Defence, Commercial, Industrial, Health, and the like.
  • Thorough understanding of NCC (National Construction Code) and relevant Australian Standards.
  • A good level of report writing and communication skills.
