About the Role

The Cardiovascular Program Director will oversee existing and newly created cardiovascular clinical programs, ensuring they align with Northwestern Medicine's mission, vision, and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop business cases for new programs and manage clinical and/or non-clinical staff to include advanced practice providers, nurse clinicians, and other support staff.
  • Directly manage cardiovascular clinical programs, including Cardiac Surgery pre-op consultation and OR management, post-op management, Ventricular Assist Devices and Heart Transplant program, and other niche programs.
  • Work closely with Resources Coordinator and team leads to manage APP, RN, and non-clinical staff in each program, focusing on daily operations, payroll, hiring, direct supervision, professional development, and performance monitoring of all direct reports.

About You

To succeed as a Cardiovascular Program Director, you will need a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Communications, or a related field. Current IL license as a Registered Nurse, Advanced Practice Nurse (APN), Physician Assistant (PA), or Physical Therapist is required. Five to eight years' experience in a relevant role, strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, project management and organizational skills, analysis and problem-solving skills, excellent oral and communication skills, and ability to establish and maintain working relationships at all levels are also essential.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in MBA or MHA, certification in area of specialty or administration.
