Role Overview
We are looking for a Clinical Nursing Unit Leader (NUM) to provide strategic clinical leadership to a skilled and enthusiastic nursing team within our Medical Services. The unit is a 32-bed mixed medical ward specializing in Acute Stroke, Neurology, and General Medicine care.
As a NUM, you will inspire and guide a dedicated team to deliver safe, high-quality, and patient-centered care, ensuring a positive experience for all patients. Your commitment to excellence and compassionate care will be essential in fostering a high-performing team focused on safety and quality outcomes. You will promote inclusivity and collaboration while engaging with patients, staff, and stakeholders. In addition to clinical leadership, you will be responsible for achieving key quality assurance and performance metrics, as well as operational, financial, and workforce management objectives.

Reporting to the Service Manager for Medicine, you will receive strong support from the leadership team, including opportunities for professional development with senior nursing and medical staff.

Qualifications Required:
• Current registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
• Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent qualification
• Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in medical nursing
• Postgraduate qualification in a specialty area or actively pursuing one
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in departmental management or acting in a managerial capacity
• Nursing experience in both public and private healthcare settings
