Job Title: Superintendent, Asset Engineering
About the Role:
The Asset Engineering Team Lead will provide visible leadership to the Asset Engineering team within Whitehaven Coal's Asset Management & Technology group function. This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and governing equipment asset management strategies and plans to optimize the lifecycle of mobile mining equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Asset Engineering team to develop, maintain, and govern equipment asset management strategies and plans to optimize the lifecycle of mobile mining equipment.
- Develop, maintain, and govern the equipment standards, specifications, and compliance framework to ensure all engineering and asset management activities comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Direct, coordinate, and provide guidance on equipment delivery on sites, including compliance with technical and relevant standards.
- Direct and lead the team to undertake periodic cost benchmarking exercises to support the site's in maximising Operational Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Provide support and advice to site-based and group asset teams.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of engineers and asset management professionals.
- Develop and maintain value-added and authentic relationships with site maintenance and engineering teams to improve asset performance and support site improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Undergraduate degree (Bachelor) qualification in Engineering (Mech, Elec, Mining or similar) OR Trades qualification with 10+ years site-based experience in maintenance/reliability function OR Management consulting background combined with mining and asset management experience.
- Experience in the mining/heavy industry or with HME OEM.
