About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Orthotist/Prosthetist to join our team at the Department of Health, Tasmania. As a Clinical Specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, client-centered orthotic and prosthetic services to clients, working closely with multidisciplinary teams and referrers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide evidence-based orthotic and prosthetic services to clients, including assessment, design, fabrication, and fitting of devices.
  • Collaborate with peer services, interdisciplinary teams, and referrers to ensure effective client care and outcomes.
  • Contribute to the enhancement of client services and quality systems, working closely with senior clinicians and managers.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, families, and carers to ensure optimal client outcomes.
  • Participate in professional development and continuing education to stay up-to-date with best practices and advancements in the field.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Orthotics and Prosthetics, and evidence of membership of the Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association.
  • Eligible for membership with the Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Association, or where regulatory requirements exist, NDIS Q&S Commission Provider Registration Requirements or TGA personalised medical device regulation requirements.
  • Current Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.
Desirable Criteria
  • Current Driver's Licence.
