Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee project coordination with heritage personnel and clients under the guidance of the Manager.
  • Collaborate with the Manager to provide training for cultural heritage professionals.
  • Serve as a liaison with clients, delivering high-quality expert guidance on various heritage and native title matters.
  • Assist in the preparation of proposals and follow-up communications for cultural heritage projects.
  • Lead and manage fieldwork for duty of care assessments and extensive projects.
  • Engage, coordinate, and negotiate with Traditional Owner groups as necessary.
  • Uphold your professional qualifications by keeping training and accreditations current.
  • Adhere to workplace health and safety protocols established by the business and clients.
  • Maintain and operate vehicles and equipment according to company policies.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A formal degree in archaeology, anthropology, or a related field with Honours.
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of applicable state and federal legislation regarding cultural heritage permits and licensing.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in documenting heritage sites using various techniques and technologies.
  • Proficient in GIS software, including QGIS and/or ArcGIS.
  • Valid first aid certification.
  • Ability to interpret project scopes and assist in proposal development for clients.
  • Experience in conducting cultural heritage assessments.
  • Proven capability to lead a small project team in a service-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills that foster positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Experience in providing practical and compliant advice to clients.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Class C Driver's License.
  • Physically and mentally fit, capable of undertaking extensive fieldwork as required.
