About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Culinary Specialist to join our team at Matthews Hospitality. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional food quality and service to our guests.

This is a casual position, approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility to work over a 7-day roster. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a strong knowledge of modern culinary techniques, and the ability to work well under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency in all dishes served.
  • To assist the Head Chef in menu planning, inventory management, and stock control.
  • To supervise and coordinate the preparation and service of meals during peak periods.
  • To ensure that all health and safety, and food safety standards are met at all times.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A Certificate in Cookery or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Prior experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Strong knowledge of food trends, sanitation, and food cost controls.
  • The ability to work autonomously, with minimal supervision, and to tight deadlines.
