About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Capital Project Engineer to join our team at Sugar Australia. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of multiple capital works projects across various disciplines, ensuring timely, budget-friendly, and specification-compliant outcomes with zero injuries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to improving safety behavior and awareness by ensuring the team adheres to site safety policies and identifies safety breaches.
  • Ensure risk assessments and all Permits to Work are completed and approved prior to work commencement.
  • Manage contractors and ensure projects are delivered according to agreed timeframes, outcomes, and financial plans.
  • Provide technical engineering support and expert advice when required.
  • Develop and manage customer requirements and interfaces to ensure projects are identified and scoped in line with business needs.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers to support understanding of requirements and project completion.
  • Strive for best practice safety, project execution, and cost performance through continuous interaction with site teams.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Trade-qualified and post-trade qualifications in Engineering or a Bachelor of Engineering.
  • 3+ years of project engineering and management experience in manufacturing or heavy industries.
  • Experience in managing multi-disciplined projects.
  • Exposure to continuous improvement or lean principles.
  • Analytical and systematic, with good communication, negotiating, and record-keeping capabilities.
  • Ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
