Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Platform Engineer to join our team. As a Staff Platform Engineer, you will play a critical role in managing, optimizing, and scaling our enterprise backup and recovery infrastructure.

About the Role

You will be responsible for administering and maintaining the Commvault backup and recovery environment across hybrid infrastructure. This includes monitoring system health, job performance, and storage utilization proactively. You will lead root cause analysis and resolution of backup failures, restore issues, and performance bottlenecks.

Additionally, you will provide L3 support and mentor junior engineers. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will ensure adherence to data retention and protection policies.

Your Key Responsibilities
  1. Administer and maintain the Commvault backup and recovery environment across hybrid infrastructure.
  2. Monitor system health, job performance, and storage utilization proactively.
  3. Lead root cause analysis and resolution of backup failures, restore issues, and performance bottlenecks.
  4. Provide L3 support and mentor junior engineers.
  5. Ensure adherence to data retention and protection policies.
  6. Maintain detailed documentation for backup configurations, SOPs, and disaster recovery plans.
The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone with:

  • Expert-level hands-on experience with Commvault, DataDomain, Networker, CommServe, Media Agents, and client configurations.
  • Strong understanding of backup policies, deduplication, catalogue management, and storage targets (ECS, Pure, VMAX).
  • Proficiency in VMware technology – Aria Suite, VRA/VRO Automation.
  • Proficiency in AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM) and AWS Cloud Practitioner certification.
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools (Python, PowerShell, Bash, Ansible, Terraform).
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools and reporting dashboards such as Grafana and Prometheus.
