Our Engineering Design business provides multidisciplinary engineering services and integrated solutions across a wide range of projects and markets. This is an opportunity for an Experienced/senior Protection Design Engineer with expertise in High Voltage Systems – Protection, controls and SCADA to establish and grow the team in Australia.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of secondary system designers and supporting our multi-disciplinary design and project management teams.
  • Preparing and delivering a full scope of secondary design for new and brown field sites, including conducting load flow, fault levels, and protection coordination studies.
  • Maintaining client relationships to support project delivery and engaging as a subject matter Specialist.
  • Collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders to define project goals, establish budgets and develop project schedules.
  • Participating actively in design reviews, risk assessments and quality control processes to ensure design excellence.

Desired Skills, Experience and Capabilities:

  • Proven experience in the design of HV and EHV substation installations, with an expertise in secondary systems design, including Protection, SCADA and auxiliary supplies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical skills with the ability to develop and lead design teams and develop strong client relationships.
  • Experience working in digital engineering environments and delivering to local technical standards and guidelines.
  • Commercially minded, able to understand the business needs of both AtkinsRéalis and our clients.
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Electrical / Power Engineering or an Equivalent.
