About the Position

Our team seeks a Commercial Manager to deliver risk and compliance initiatives in Australia, working closely with the Australian Risk & Operations team.

This role will contribute to delivering a robust platform to support the growth of our business in Australia and enhance operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

The Commercial Manager will report to the Managing Director, Risk & Operations, and have a key focus on driving proactive risk management and compliance capability in Australia. Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage team workflows and key risk and compliance activities, including maintenance and oversight of various compliance obligations
  • Respond to queries from the practice regarding corporate and risk and compliance matters, including review of RFPs and client contracts
  • Oversee compliance management in relation to licensed or registrable activities
  • Horizon scanning for new legislative and regulatory developments and drive implementation
  • Communicate, report and present in various forums regarding risk and compliance matters
  • Work closely with colleagues to run and resolve urgent or sensitive risk and compliance matters

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Ability to weigh risks against operational needs to develop reasoned recommendations
  • Proactive and self-motivated individual with excellent leadership and project delivery skills
  • Excellent judgement, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong work ethic, integrity and high level of professionalism

Experience & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 6-10 years risk and compliance experience within a broad professional services environment
  • Degree in Law, Commerce, Accounting, Business or risk and compliance certifications preferred
