About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Assets Manager, Facility and Assets to join our team at the Department of Justice and Community Safety. This is a critical role that requires a strong understanding of asset management principles and practices.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the comprehensive management and strategic development of $1.34 billion in fixed assets across Barwon Prison, Karreenga Annexe, and the Western Plains Correctional Centre. This includes developing and implementing asset management strategies, conducting in-depth assessments of the asset portfolio, and ensuring full compliance with Asset Management Accountability Framework (AMAF) standards.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in developing and implementing asset management strategies, assessing and optimising asset portfolios, and creating and presenting robust funding business cases. They will also have expertise in engaging stakeholders and effectively communicating asset management plans and performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive asset management strategies that align with the Government's and Corrections Victoria's long-term goals and objectives.
  • Conduct in-depth assessments of the asset portfolio to optimise resource utilisation, reduce operational costs, and enhance asset longevity.
  • Prepare and implement procedures and processes to achieve and maintain AMAF maturity.
  • Ensure full compliance with AMAF standards, developing strategies to meet mandatory asset management objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager, Facility and Assets, to assess operational maintenance needs and integrate them into asset management plans.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven experience in developing and implementing asset management strategies compliant with AMAF standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Extensive experience in assessing and optimising asset portfolios to enhance resource utilisation, reduce costs, and extend asset life.
  • Expertise in creating and presenting robust funding business cases with advanced analytical tools.
  • Proficient in engaging stakeholders and effectively communicating asset management plans and performance metrics.
