About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Apparel Planner to join our dynamic merchandise planning team at Kmart Group. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring we have the right stock in the right place at the right time, while understanding our customers' needs and delivering commercial outcomes that align with our strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage the merchandise financial plan to achieve sales, profit, stockturn, and ROI budgets.
  • Deliver key profit objectives through innovation, customer orientation, inventory management, and analysis.
  • Establish strategies to satisfy our target customer in line with merchandise strategy.
  • Trade our business to maximize every opportunity and minimize risks.
  • Control a significant Open to Buy.
  • Forecast stock requirements to maximize revenue, margin, and stock turn performance.
  • Work collaboratively with your buyer and the broader team.
Requirements
  • Strong commercial acumen and numerical skills, with high levels of attention to detail.
  • Ability to observe, interpret, and act upon trends in customer behavior.
  • Highly inquisitive, self-driven, with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to develop accurate financial plans, assortment plans that are relevant to the customer, and deliver financial outcomes.
  • Quantification of individual products over time.
  • Ability to articulate observations, reasons for actions taken, and high levels of persuasiveness.
  • Proficient with business intelligence tools, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Business, Commerce, or Retail-related degree.
  • Planning experience across a variety of categories is advantageous.
  • Planning experience within Footwear is preferred but not essential.
