Diesel Mechanic Field Service Technician

We are seeking a skilled professional to perform routine maintenance, repairs and diagnostics on diesel-powered construction equipment.

This role involves conducting engine overhauls and replacements as needed, identifying issues using computerized diagnostic tools and other equipment, inspecting and troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and regulations, communicating effectively with customers and providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining accurate and complete records of service activities.

  • Maintenance, repairs and diagnostics on diesel-powered construction equipment
  • Engine overhauls and replacements
  • Diagnosing issues using computerized diagnostic tools and other equipment
  • Inspecting and troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic systems
  • Compliance with safety protocols and regulations
  • Customer service and communication
  • Service record management

This is a Monday to Friday position offering a competitive salary and overtime compensation.

We require relevant trade qualifications in Heavy Diesel Mechanics, proven experience working on earthmoving equipment, access equipment or trucks, strong mechanical and diagnostics skills, ability to navigate computer programs for diagnostics and troubleshooting, excellent customer service and communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks including oil changes, filter replacements and tire rotations
  • Conduct thorough inspections of equipment to identify potential issues before they become major problems
  • Analyze data from computerized diagnostic tools to diagnose equipment malfunctions
  • Collaborate with colleagues to resolve complex technical issues
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve efficiency and productivity
