Inventory Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Inventory Management Specialist to ensure the correct amount of stock is purchased and maintained to meet customer demands. This role requires a strong understanding of inventory management principles and practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage inventory levels to meet customer demands.
  • Deliver high service levels, exceeding 98%.
  • Leverage store-specific purchase deals to maximize profits.
  • Review and compare stock profits with budget forecasts.
  • Ensure inventory levels comply with promotional deals and programs.
Work Environment:

This role requires working in a safe and secure work environment. You will be responsible for ensuring timely reporting, escalation, and investigation of safety hazards and incidents.

  • Continually monitor and evaluate safety risks and controls.
  • Ensure the safety and integrity of stock storage systems and stock levels.
  • Identify, coach, and train a backup to provide support during leave and ensure succession planning.
Support Branch Operations:

You will inform the store leadership team of concerns relating to stock levels and recommend corrective actions.

  • Undertake range reviews to control inventory levels and minimize shrinkage.
  • Monitor compliance, identifying lines for deletion and action deletions in conjunction with the Store Manager.
  • Ensure stock control methods are implemented to minimize 'Out of Stock' rates and ensure consistency of supply while monitoring compliance.

Requirements:
  • Experience with inventory management systems and principles.
  • Dealing with conflict and/or having difficult conversations.
  • Building and maintaining collaborative relationships internally and externally.
  • Interpreting workforce plans and executing business/site plans.
Organisational Knowledge:
  • Broad understanding of the company's structure, pillars, standing in the industry, service, and commercial model.
  • Knowledge of warehousing operations, warehouse management systems, FMCG, retail, or warehousing knowledge.
  • Mental health and/or first aid.
Technical Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of inventory management.
  • Understanding of supply chain trends and practice.
