Job Description

School Psychologist Role - A Career Opportunity in Education

This role is a chance to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people. As a School Psychologist, you will work closely with students, teachers, and parents to identify and address any issues that may be impacting their learning and wellbeing.

Your main responsibility will be to provide psychological services to students, including individual and group counselling sessions, as well as assessments and interventions. You will also work collaboratively with other members of the school community to develop strategies to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes.

You will have the opportunity to work with students from diverse backgrounds and needs, and to develop your skills and expertise as part of a supportive multidisciplinary team. You will also have access to ongoing professional development opportunities to ensure you remain up-to-date with best practice in the field.

The successful candidate will be based at Gulgong High School, Cudgegong Valley Public School and Mudgee High School, and will have the opportunity to work across the lifespan with both primary and high school aged students.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A degree in Psychology or a related field;
  • General or Provisional Psychology Registration with the Psychology Board of Australia;
  • A current Working with Children Check clearance;
  • A valid and current driver's licence and willingness to travel between work sites;
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency;

You will also need to have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
