Job Title: Dedicated Disability Support Worker

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join our team in the Northern Rivers region.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering support services that cater to the unique needs of our clients, promoting community inclusion, independence, and personal choice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Personal Care: Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • PEG Feeding: Support and assist clients with PEG feeding.
  • Manual Handling: Aid clients with mobility challenges through proper manual handling techniques and exercises.
  • Community Engagement: Support clients in participating in social, recreational, and community activities.
  • Domestic Duties: Assist with light housekeeping duties, meal preparation, and maintaining a safe and clean-living environment.
  • Behavioural Management: Handle clients with high behaviours, employing appropriate strategies to ensure their safety and well-being.
  • Direct Care Assistance to each client in accordance with their service plan and as directed by the coordinator.
  • Documentation, recording relevant information on support provided in client notes.
  • Collaboration with clients, family/carers, and other professionals to support the client's individual goals.

Requirements:

  • Australian Federal Police Clearance
  • CIII or CIV in Individual Support, Aged Care or Disability Services
  • PEG feeding experience preferred, but training provided
  • Administering Nebuliser experience preferred, but training provided
  • Current CPR / First Aid Certificate
  • NDIS Workers Screening Check and workers module
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence
  • Valid Working Rights in Australia (Passport, Birth Certificate etc)
  • Reliable, registered and insured vehicle (comprehensive insurance required)
  • Smartphone with internet access
