Job Description:

The role of a Training Officer is to provide high-quality training and education programs for police officers and other clients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering training programs that meet the needs of our clients.

They will work closely with other team members to ensure that training programs are aligned with the goals and objectives of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide practical operational skills training, including firearms training, to police officers and other clients.
  • Apply adult education methodologies relevant to operational skills training programs.
  • Provide leadership, supervision, and support to staff.
  • Assess program participants and prepare required reports based on these assessments.
  • Plan, facilitate, and review the delivery and assessment of education and training programs.
  • Liaise with and develop effective working relationships with members of the organization, other agencies, and individuals.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of course curricula by conducting research, evaluation, and development related to training.
  • Maintain information management and other administrative systems to monitor and record training and assessment.

Requirements:

  • A strong understanding of adult education principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and build effective working relationships.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to assess and evaluate program participants and prepare required reports.
  • Knowledge of information management and administrative systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
