Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our data engineering center of excellence, you will play a critical role in designing and implementing cloud-based data solutions that support our business goals.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with database design, data ingestion, transformation, and query management within a cloud environment. You will also have expertise in working with AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineers, Software/API Developers, and Architects to design, develop, deploy, and operate data services and solutions.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Designing and implementing databases for data integration in the enterprise
  • Collaborating with business and technical teams to design and build critical databases and data pipelines
  • Performance tuning applications from a database code and design perspective
  • Automating data ingestion and transformation processes using scheduling tools
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting data pipelines to ensure reliability and performance

In addition to your technical skills, you will be expected to:

  • Take ownership and accountability of functional and non-functional design
  • Work within a team of engineers to create innovative solutions that unlock value and modernize technology designs
  • Role model a continuous improvement mindset in the team and project interactions
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in database design, data ingestion, transformation, and query management within a cloud environment
  • Experience working with AWS Cloud Infrastructure Engineers, Software/API Developers, and Architects
  • Strong knowledge of SQL and proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala, or Java
  • Familiarity with automation tools and scripting (e.g., bash scripting, cron jobs) for scheduling and monitoring data processes
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) for managing code and collaboration
