Salary & Benefits
The successful candidate can expect an annual salary of $250,000, 11.5% superannuation, company vehicle, laptop, and mobile phone. Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates not already based in Kalgoorlie. Temporary housing assistance is also available for up to six months.
Job Description
This Mining Operations Director position involves:
- Developing and implementing strategic plans to improve operational performance and deliver continuous improvement;
- Managing day-to-day operations, including service delivery, mine production, asset maintenance, and resource allocation;
- Fostering a positive and productive work environment through effective leadership and mentorship;
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, suppliers, industry partners, and internal stakeholders;
- Oversight of financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, estimating, and reporting;
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have:
- Tertiary qualification in Business Administration or a relevant field (candidates with strong industry experience will also be considered);
- Senior management experience working within the mining services or transport industry;
- Minimum 10 years of open pit mining experience, with at least 5 years in a management role;
- Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate and inspire teams;
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement plans;
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills;
- Strong trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills;
- A deep understanding of the mining industry and its challenges.
