Planning Services Director

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Planning Lead to shape the future of planning in Stirling. As a key member of our team, you will lead the City's statutory planning function, coordinating development assessments, compliance matters and strategic planning advice.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead statutory planning assessments and decision-making processes
- Coordinate agenda items and reports for Council and DAP meetings
- Provide professional leadership and mentoring to planning staff members
- Ensure compliance with statutory obligations and established processes
- Represent the City at external forums, including SAT and WAPC
- Oversee workflow, performance, and operational planning initiatives
- Drive business process improvements and strategic alignment throughout the organization
- Maintain accurate records and reporting for planning functions
- Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning
- Strong knowledge of WA's planning system and legislation
- Leadership and mentoring experience in a similar role
- Excellent communication and decision-making skills
- Experience in statutory planning within local government settings
