
Expert Financial Analyst

As a Senior Consultant in Forensic Accounting & Advisory Services, you will oversee client engagements with responsibility for conducting accounting and financial analysis. You will have visibility across the entire engagement, allowing you to appreciate how each aspect comes together to deliver a high-quality final product.
You will work directly with senior team members who will support and guide you throughout the engagement. Your professional development will be enhanced through internal and external training, on-the-job coaching, and mentoring. You will develop a strong knowledge of the legal process, especially with regard to litigation and providing expert opinions, while making use of your established analytical, accounting, and finance skills.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting financial analysis using Microsoft Excel and other tools to solve problems, including loss and damage assessment
- Reviewing information received and identifying further information required to complete the analysis
- Analyzing and interpreting large volumes of information, including accounting, financial, and banking records
- Reviewing financial statements for compliance with Australian Accounting Standards
- Undertaking research into companies and industries using Capital IQ and other data sources
- Preparing expert reports, client reports, and presentations that detail project scope, methodology, and findings
- Interacting and meeting with clients, including lawyers, in-house counsel, and senior accounting personnel
- Developing project planning and management skills
- Supervising the work of junior staff and providing coaching to junior team members
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related disciplines
- Completed or working towards an Australian or internationally recognised professional accounting qualification
- 3-5 years of professional accounting experience, including experience such as forensic accounting, business valuations, auditing, and/or management accounting
- Strong understanding of and interest in forensic accounting
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English
