About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Wine Connoisseur to join our team as an Assistant Sommelier at Park Hyatt Sydney.

As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service and wine expertise to our guests. Your passion for wine and commitment to delivering an outstanding dining experience will make you an invaluable asset to our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Hotel Sommelier in creating and maintaining an extensive wine list that showcases a broad spectrum of domestic and imported wines.
  • Conduct wine tastings and provide recommendations to guests based on their preferences and the menu offerings.
  • Maintain accurate records of wine inventory, sales, and customer preferences.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop wine pairing menus and enhance the overall dining experience.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by responding promptly to guest inquiries, resolving issues efficiently, and ensuring that all interactions are courteous and professional.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a fine dining restaurant or similar environment, preferably in a sommelier role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of wine varietals, regions, and production methods.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with guests from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Current NSW RSA Certificate, with a strong understanding of liquor laws and regulations.
