About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Health and Safety Specialist to join our team at Coles Group. As part of our Customer Fulfilment Centre (CFC) operations, you will be responsible for leading and managing the overall safety performance of the CFC and associated Spoke network.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective risk mitigation.
  • Work closely with CFC operations teams and key stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Develop and implement robust frameworks to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Represent the business to state regulators and relevant industry bodies as necessary.
  • Provide clear and accurate reporting insights and frameworks to leadership teams.
  • Evaluate business risk reduction plans to ensure effectiveness in managing risk.
  • Demonstrate due diligence in meeting legislative responsibilities related to product storage, handling, and distribution.
  • Implement and lead safety and wellbeing initiatives from the National Safety Plan.
  • Support the development, deployment, and embedding of the CFC and Spokes future safety direction and tactical initiatives.
Requirements
  • A sound knowledge of health and safety principles, critical risk reduction, traffic management, and transport safety.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working in an operational FMCG distribution centre, manufacturing, or automated environment.
  • A proven record of achieving results and leading change within a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • The ability to incorporate safety requirements while considering commercially viable and practical solutions.
  • A proven record of providing technical expertise and coaching at all levels.
  • Minimum qualification: Cert IV in Health and Safety or related discipline.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building capabilities.
  • Effective communication and influencing skills, with a strong attention to detail.
Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary of $85,000 per annum, reflecting your valuable experience and skills in health and safety management.
