V/Line is seeking a skilled Structures Inspector to join our team, responsible for ensuring the safety and integrity of our rail infrastructure. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for conducting regular inspections of civil assets, including bridges, culverts, platforms, and tunnels, to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety and rail standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing scheduled and unscheduled inspections of civil assets to ensure they meet safety and rail standards.
  • Writing detailed reports on inspections, suggesting maintenance priorities, and considering environmental and heritage issues.
  • Advising management on civil asset conditions and ensuring inspections follow the Technical Maintenance Plan (TMP).
  • Updating the database with asset conditions and aligning updates with V/Line's risk management system.
  • Responding to emergencies after hours and identifying urgent actions to maintain structural integrity.

Requirements:

  • Must hold a Certificate 3 in Rail Infrastructure.
  • A current Victorian Driver's License.
  • Bridge Inspector Level 1 or 2 certification.
  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a trade certificate is highly regarded.
  • Must be able to travel and work away from home regularly, with overtime, different shifts, and call-outs when required.
