Job Opportunity at Fin Design + Effects

We are seeking a skilled Lighting Artist to join our team in Sydney. The ideal candidate will have experience in lighting and rendering within a VFX environment.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with CG Supervisors and VFX Supervisors to determine the best approach to solving CG challenges.
  • Design and create the lighting and the look of computer-generated objects and scenes.
  • Develop efficient rendering setups to optimize render farm usage.
  • Maintain the highest level of work quality while meeting deadlines.
  • Mentor Junior Artists within the Lighting/Look Dev team.
Requirements
  • Broad understanding of modern shading models and in-depth understanding of PBR.
  • Previous experience performing shot LookDev and Lighting tasks.
  • Thorough understanding of the VFX pipeline from modeling through animation, texturing, rendering, and compositing.
  • Ability to write plug-ins, set-up sequences, debug simulations, and write shaders with proficiency.
  • Knowledge of Python is essential, knowledge of Maya, Houdini, and Redshift preferred.
