Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Blast Furnace Modelling

The School of Chemical Engineering at UNSW Australia is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Fellow to join their research team. This role offers the chance to enhance your research skills by working on specific projects related to blast furnace modelling.
About the RoleThis position will give you the opportunity to develop your scholarly research and professional activities both nationally and internationally through your contributions to the writing of scientific papers and reports for international journals, your participation in conferences and workshops, supervising HDR students, and your active engagement with industry partners.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct high-quality academic research and conduct independent research with limited supervision.
- Undertake computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and heat and mass balance (HMB) modelling of low-carbon blast furnace ironmaking.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with industry partners and stakeholders.
- Communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
- A PhD in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related area, and/or relevant work experience.
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills.
