About the role:

This role is an exciting opportunity to join our team and support food service delivery at Uniting AgeWell Lillian Martin.

As a Food Service Assistant, you will provide a service in accordance with the current planned menu and requirements of the Food Safety Program, that supports and enhances resident's individual needs and wellbeing.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining daily and periodic cleaning schedules for food preparation and food service areas
  • Serving residents meals in dining hall services and trolley service to rooms, washing dishes, sandwich making, providing cups of tea or coffee to residents and their visitors
  • Providing feedback regarding residents' likes and dislikes regarding menu planning and escalating any observations or concerns in residents conditions
  • Promoting and participating in quality activities, and providing outstanding customer service maintaining friendly, supportive and professional relationships with residents, their relatives and friends
  • Supporting colleagues by sharing knowledge and expertise

About you:

We're looking for someone who has experience and expertise working in food service; preferably in a health, hotel or aged care setting.

You will need to be available to work either 7am-3pm or 3.30pm-7.30pm, and be able to work at a fast pace as part of a team.

You will also need to have excellent customer service skills and be able to provide an excellent standard of service.

Essentials for working in Aged Care:

  • A current Working With Children Check card / Vulnerable People card
  • Current and ongoing flu vaccinations
  • Australian working rights
  • Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
