Heavy Lift Project Coordinator

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will lead and coordinate all heavy lift activities for a critical reline project at Port Kembla Steelworks. This role involves hands-on leadership, technical expertise, and coordination skills to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise heavy lift activities across steel erection and project works.
  • Manage inspections, registers, and site-wide lifting gear.
  • Collaborate with other supervisors to achieve key lift outcomes.
  • Develop and review Work Method Statements and Job Safety Analyses.
  • Supervise mechanical, structural, and project works.
  • Provide training and Verification of Competency for lift teams.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers for lifting equipment maintenance.
  • Audit lift gear condition, storage, and spares.
  • Contribute to the development of lift procedures and standards.
  • Identify and resolve issues in lift processes and systems.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Advanced Heavy Lift Certification.
  • Certificate III in Frontline Supervision.
  • Experience in structural and mechanical projects with heavy lift expertise.
  • Strong understanding of structural drawings and complex lift scenarios.
  • Proven ability to lead, train, and support lift teams.
