Job Opportunity

We are seeking a strategic planning professional to join our Planning & Place team. As a member of this dynamic team, you will be integral in assisting with master planning, place making and policy initiatives that guide growth, enhance livability and reflect the council's vision.

This role offers a unique opportunity to work collaboratively with planners and designers to deliver strategic planning outcomes that ensure a liveable, green and vibrant community.

About Us

The council is a medium-sized local government authority located in Sydney's Inner West. Our area comprises approximately 14 square kilometres and has an estimated population of 46,000 residents, which is growing at 2.5-3% annually.

We are preparing for significant change to key urban areas, including the Homebush Transport Oriented Development TOD Masterplan, which has unlocked the potential for an additional 40,000 residents across the precinct within a setting of high-rise living.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with master planning, place making and policy initiatives
  • Engage with communities, businesses and stakeholders
  • Work closely with other teams in Council
  • Deliver strategic planning outcomes that ensure a liveable, green and vibrant community
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Urban Planning or a related discipline
  • An understanding of the NSW planning framework
  • Excellent written, visual and interpersonal communication skills
  • A willingness to work in and contribute positively to a multi-disciplined team
