Drive Autonomous Mining Success with Safety Leadership

You will be a key figure in implementing safe and efficient autonomous site principles, overseeing the management of safety technology teams, recruitment, and retention of team members, risk assessments, and communication with stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of site-wide safety protocols
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective operation of safety technologies
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Travel to remote locations for installation, commissioning, and operation of safety technologies
  • Provide comprehensive training to customers on the effective use and operation of solutions
  • Analyze safety data to inform continuous risk assessment and improvement efforts
  • Lead incident investigation and analysis to identify areas for improvement

Requirements:

  • Proven experience leading safety teams in mining operations
  • Strong understanding of safety technologies, including fleet management, autonomous mission management, collision avoidance systems, onboard autonomy, and by-wire
  • Familiarity with industry-standard risk assessment frameworks, such as EMERST and Code of Practice for Safe Mobile Autonomous Mining in Western Australia
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of safety awareness and leadership abilities

Travel Requirements:

This role involves frequent travel to remote mining sites, with an 8:6 roster once the mine is up and running. Ad-hoc travel may be required during site testing and system training.
