Medical Specialist Opportunities in Tropical Paradise

Salary PackageThe generous remuneration package for this role offers a salary range of $204,206 to $258,910 per annum, with additional benefits including:
- 4 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
- Attraction and retention incentive allowance (35%-50% base salary)
- Regional and rural attraction allowance (5% base salary)
- Motor vehicle allowance between $21,000 and $25,500 per annum
- Professional development allowance of $21,500 per annum + 3.6 weeks per annum leave
- Workforce Attraction Incentive Scheme of $20,000
This pioneering role will see you at the forefront of kidney transplantation services in North Queensland, working closely with the North Queensland Kidney Transplant Service. As a Staff Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
- Engaging in networked services, including outreach clinics spanning the five Hospital and Health Services in North Queensland
- Enhancing access to kidney transplant services for rural and remote populations in North Queensland, with a particular focus on improving the healthcare journey for First Nations patients
- Taking a leadership role in designing policies that prioritize allowing individuals to remain in their homes for as much of the transplant journey as possible

Required Skills and QualificationsTo succeed in this role, you will require:
- Specialist registration (or eligibility for registration) with AHPRA
- Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or equivalent acceptable to the RACS and registration (or eligibility for registration) as a specialist with the Medical Board of Australia
- Postgraduate training in transplant surgery essential – completion of RACS PFET in transplant surgery (kidney transplant) preferred
