About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate House Manager to join our team at Life Without Barriers. As a House Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our residential house, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build professional relationships with children and young people through active engagement and visible interest.
  • Ensure the home is a place that is emotionally and physically safe, nurturing, and appropriately engaging and stimulating.
  • Develop and implement the LWB Case/Care plan that drives day-to-day service delivery.
  • Manage and support a team of residential workers, providing reflective supervision and team meetings.
  • Support staff to apply the Therapeutic Crisis Intervention system (TCI) to prevent, de-escalate, and respond to crisis incidents.
  • Coordinate the intake and transition of new children and young people into the home and the exit of children and young people to permanent homes or step-down services.
  • Work collaboratively with external stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
Requirements
  • Minimum Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or similar.
  • Experience working with children and young people who have experienced trauma and disadvantage.
  • Experience in the coordination and management of 24-hour residential services for vulnerable people.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and leading a team.
  • Demonstrated capacity to manage crises and critical issues.
  • Current Unrestricted Australian Drivers Licence.
  • First Aid and CPR Certificates (or willingness to obtain if successful).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills and use of Microsoft Office packages.
