Teaching Opportunities in Nursing

Casual teaching opportunities exist within the Nursing undergraduate and postgraduate courses at Flinders University's Bedford Park and Renmark campuses.

  • Teaching in tutorial, laboratory or online classes is required to educate students in nursing practices and procedures.
  • Assessment marking of student work is also a responsibility of this role.
  • Topic team meetings are necessary for collaborative planning and development of course materials.
  • Student consultation is essential for understanding individual needs and providing support.
  • Administrative tasks related to course delivery and management must be completed efficiently.
Selection Criteria
  • A current registration as a nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) is mandatory.
  • A valid Working with Children Check from the Department of Human Services – SA Government is also required.
  • A postgraduate qualification in nursing with a minimum of Honours or Graduate Certificate is preferred.
  • Experience in teaching and learning in a registered nurse capacity is highly regarded.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative and communication skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and/or experience in contemporary trends in nursing is desirable.
  • Proficiency in using technology such as Microsoft Office programs and interactive online tools is expected.
  • High-quality teaching experience at a tertiary level is an advantage.
  • Possession of a Graduate Diploma, Masters or PhD in nursing or a related field is also advantageous.
