A leading national distributor of major construction & material handling equipment is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic/Field Service Technician to join their team in Cairns. Role Description
In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of earthmoving, construction, and material handling equipment. You will perform repairs and preventative maintenance on all machines, confidently problem-solve complex and critical failure situations, and conduct scheduled maintenance services. Your duties will include detection and diagnosis of mechanical and electrical faults in engines and components, performing dismantling, repairing, and reassembling of mechanical components using service manuals, and conducting scheduled maintenance services.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must have a Trade Certificate in Heavy Equipment or the Automotive Industry (mandatory), a valid Australian driver's license (mandatory), and experience in a similar role. Additionally, proficiency in hydraulics and electrical circuits is desirable. The ideal candidate will also have a strong understanding of diagnostic skills, fault finding, and mechanical repairs.
