Role Overview

As a Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) clinician, you will be responsible for engaging with young people, carers, and service providers via telephone/virtual care to ensure they access the right service at the right time.

This role requires highly developed verbal and written communication, negotiation, and critical thinking skills. You will have confidence in clinical decision making and demonstrated experience in bio-psycho-social-cultural assessment and mental health risk assessment.

The CAMHS Centralised Intake team is seeking an experienced mental health clinician who can work within an experienced multi-disciplinary team, benefit from regular clinical supervision and access to continuous training and educational programs.

Job Description

This role involves providing comprehensive assessment, intake, and service linkage for young people/carers. You will utilise telephone contact/virtual care to engage with clients and provide support and guidance as needed.

  • Provide comprehensive assessment, intake, and service linkage for young people/carers.
  • Work within an experienced multi-disciplinary team.
  • Benefit from regular clinical supervision and access to continuous training and educational programs.

It is essential that you have confidence in clinical decision making and demonstrated experience in bio-psycho-social-cultural assessment and mental health risk assessment.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Must hold a qualification in one of the following: Occupational Therapy, Nursing, Social Work, Counsellor (Bachelor of Health Science Mental Health, Djirruwang Program).

  • Completed relevant post-registration qualification/s in Mental Health and at least 3 years' clinical experience in Mental Health for appointment at Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2.
