About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Therapist to provide mentoring, guidance, and support to fellow therapists within the Sexual Assault Counselling Service team.

  • Full time position.
  • Role is government funded until 30 June 2026 with possible extension.
  • Level 7 under the SCHCADS Award. Salary range is $115,066 - $119,872 + Super.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide trauma-informed, developmentally sensitive, and culturally safe counselling and support to children and young people who have experienced unwanted sexual contact and/or to address harmful sexual behaviours.
  • Identify and work toward client goals and achieve successful case outcomes for clients.
  • Facilitate and participate in case reviews and other case discussions as required.
About You
  • Tertiary degree qualifications in a relevant discipline (psychology, social work, counselling, allied health).
  • Registration with the appropriate Board under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
  • At least three (3) years' experience working with children, young people, and their families in similar roles.
  • Understanding of the impacts of trauma on child and family functioning.
Requirements
  • Eligibility for a Working with Children Check or professional exemption.
  • Current driver's licence.
  • Legally able to work in Australia (proof of eligibility will be requested).
