Research Development Manager Opportunity

This is a strategic leadership role that focuses on advancing the organization's success in major national research funding schemes.

The successful candidate will lead the development, coordination and submission of high-quality proposals. They will also play a pivotal role in building institutional capability, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and ensuring alignment with organizational strategic research priorities.

  • Lead the development and submission of major ARC, industry and competitive research funding proposals.
  • Build and implement pipeline strategies to strengthen ARC and industry-aligned grant success.
  • Manage and mentor the grants team to deliver high-quality, timely submissions.
  • Collaborate with business development to secure industry and commercial research funding.
Job Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Postgraduate qualifications and extensive experience in grant development and management, or equivalent expertise.
  • Proven success in supporting major competitive funding applications, particularly Category 1 schemes.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian research funding programs and major initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a pipeline of proposals from concept through to submission and establishment.
  • Well-developed networks with funding bodies and research partners across the sector.
