We are seeking a highly motivated and suitably qualified Registered Midwife to lead the Early Pregnancy Assessment Service (EPAS) for 12 months. The role will provide clinical leadership, consultancy, and a coordinated approach to care for women during early pregnancy.
EPAS is a low-risk outpatient facility for clinically stable women currently less than 20 weeks gestation, experiencing threatened loss or loss of pregnancy including mild pain and minimal vaginal bleeding. The service aims to provide a standardised model of care that provides assessment, investigation, management, emotional care, and counselling, meeting the clinical and emotional needs of the women and her partner/family.
The Successful Applicant Will- Be required to triage EPAS referrals and coordinate appropriate care in a timely manner as per EPAS policy and guidelines and collaboration with the obstetric medical team & Emergency department.
- Provide clinical leadership and consultancy to the EPAS team.
- Develop and implement a coordinated approach to care for women during early pregnancy.
- Collaborate with the obstetric medical team and Emergency department to ensure seamless care.
- Provide emotional care and counselling to women and their partners/families.
- Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
- Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Midwife with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated recent experience as a Registered Midwife in an environment appropriate to the relevant specialty.
- Demonstrated ability to provide safe, compassionate, and quality care that is culturally responsive.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, families, carers, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs.
- Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
- Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced-based midwifery care.
- Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety, and quality improvement in the workplace.
