Electrical Fitter

As an Electrical Fitter in the Australian Defence Force (ADF), you will play a critical role in ensuring the electrical power, generation, and distribution systems of our ships are in peak working order.

With extensive on-the-job trade training, you will gain the skills needed to maintain and operate complex electrical systems, including alternators, batteries, charging systems, electrical switchboards, lighting systems, and corrosion protection systems.

As an Electrical Fitter, you may also have the opportunity to specialise as an Electrical Fitter Submariner, working on the electrical systems of our submarines.

This role requires a high level of technical expertise and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
