Job Description

As a senior technical expert, you will be recognized as the go-to expert internally and externally. Your guiding direction and ultimate oversight of engineering engagements will set the standard for excellence.

  • Provides technical guidance to a team of engineers, designers, and specialists.
  • Leads technology strategy for individual's area of expertise.
  • Technical point of contact for strategic clients and member of senior leadership team.
  • Identifies potential changes and applies existing criteria in new ways.
  • Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
Required Skills and Qualifications

• Serves as technical expert in their domain.

• Provides guiding direction and ultimate oversight of engineering engagements.

• Sets direction and goals for technology and/or business line.

• External spokesperson on technical engineering issues.

• Leads technology strategy for individual's area of expertise.

• Technical point of contact for strategic clients and member of AECOM senior leadership team.

• As necessary, modifies established guidelines, devises new approaches, applies existing criteria in new ways and draws conclusions from comparative situations.

• May provide technical guidance to a modest-sized group of engineers, designers, and specialists.

• Fully versed in the project change control process and can identify a potential change.

• Fully versed with and can check and review the work sequence, general content, and the methods used to generate specifications for the purchase of material, equipment, systems, services, or construction within a specific discipline.

• Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.

• Requires sufficient professional experience to assure competence as a fully trained worker.
