Portable Fire Protection Technician

The role of a portable fire equipment technician is a key position within our team, requiring individuals with prior experience in servicing, maintaining and selling fire hose reels, fire extinguishers and related products. The ideal candidate will possess industry accreditation and be able to obtain the necessary certifications.

This job requires someone who can represent our brand to the highest standards and capitalize on product sales opportunities while performing service work. A sound understanding of Australian Standards relevant to portable fire protection equipment is essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Servicing portable fire equipment at customer premises and recommending portable fire protection and safety systems and equipment to meet specific Australian Standards.
  • Auditing client locations, quoting and selling the full range of portable fire protection and safety systems, equipment, and services.
  • Identifying, repairing, and installing portable fire protection and safety systems and equipment to meet specific Australian Standards.
  • Completing and providing evidence of maintenance performed on equipment using electronic maintenance records and specific industry documentation.
  • Exceeding financial and tolerance-related targets and Key Performance Indicators.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Professional experience or qualifications specified by any applicable local classification structure.
  • A current QLD QBCC License, for Fire - Portables Class/Stream for Install and maintenance of Portable Equipment, is mandatory.
  • A sound knowledge of applicable Australian Standards relevant to portable fire protection equipment.
  • Competitive rates of pay and extensive training in your initial employment with senior technicians and supervisors.
