
Network Interconnection Strategist

This is a key role in shaping Google's global network interconnection strategy across the Asia-Pacific region. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of telecommunications markets, internet protocols, and carrier networks.
About the RoleThe Strategic Negotiation team works behind the scenes to secure infrastructure for Google's future. As part of this team, you will combine your technical expertise with business acumen to find solutions that support Google's growth. You'll work with specific teams to oversee vendor and partner relationships, ensuring contract compliance on third-party agreements while identifying cost-effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Lead Google's Internet peering, interconnect, and caching programs across Asia-Pacific (APAC), ensuring alignment with government and public policy initiatives.
- Integrate Google's cloud networking products with internet interconnection strategies.
- Cultivate relationships within the peering and Internet Exchange (IX) communities in Asia's markets.
- Analyze network traffic data to optimize routing, troubleshoot irregularities, and address congestion.
- Coordinate with provisioning teams for upgrades of peering connections.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 6 years of experience with technical, commercial, and legal areas of telecommunications and carrier markets.
- Experience with carrier markets within Asia.
