Job Description:

As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will collaborate with individuals with disabilities and their support teams to foster independence and social connection.

• You will engage in meaningful interactions with NDIS participants to comprehend their objectives, desires, and needs.
• Cultivate strong relationships with support networks including families, schools, medical and allied health providers, accommodation providers, and support workers.
• Conduct assessments, observations, and interviews to gather valuable insights.
• Develop and implement behaviour support plans, providing training and coaching to NDIS participants and their support networks.

In this role, you will also have the opportunity to:

• Choose your clients and work at a time that suits your schedule as a contractor.
• Elevate your skills through comprehensive training covering positive behaviour support, human rights, trauma, restrictive practices, safety, telePBS, functions, and formulations.
• Pursue continuous professional development through regular mentorship sessions, peer supervision, live training, and self-paced online learning.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be passionate about empowering people with disability, value mutual respect, empathy, and collaboration, and possess tertiary qualifications and/or experience in psychology, ABA, speech therapy, occupational therapy, counselling, criminology, disability, education, mental health, music therapy, psychotherapy, special education, social work, or sociology.
