About the Opportunity

SA Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Health Worker to join our team in Metropolitan Youth Health (MYH). As a key member of our MYH team, you will play a vital role in providing therapeutic services to young men and young fathers who are disadvantaged and/or vulnerable.

Key Responsibilities:
  • To engage with young men and young fathers, both individually and in group settings, to access and navigate primary health care services.
  • To deliver high-quality therapeutic trauma specialist counselling services, ensuring clients receive effective support to address Domestic and Family Violence risks.
  • To develop and implement quality outcomes for clients through youth healthcare services within a therapeutic framework.
  • To improve service access and outcomes for young people and their families by working collaboratively with other health professionals and government agencies.
About You

We are looking for an individual who can critically analyse and respond to changing client needs, as well as work within a gender accountability framework when supporting young fathers and their partners in a DFV context. The successful candidate will also have excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with young men and young fathers.

Requirements:
  • A strong background in therapeutic counselling and group services.
  • Excellent engagement and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other health professionals and agencies.
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering training and development programs.
