CareFlight is a leading Australian aeromedical organisation dedicated to saving lives, speeding recovery, and serving the community through its charitable social purpose.

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Finance Partner to join our Northern Operations team and become a key member of our Finance team.

As a Business Finance Partner, you will be responsible for delivering all aspects of management reporting for Northern Operations & Flight Operations, ensuring financial data integrity to improve financial performance.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of standardised monthly financial reporting, annual budgets, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
  • Review of monthly financial performance against key contracts and preparation of accurate and timely commentary against budget or forecast.
  • Ensuring all potential risks and opportunities are highlighted well in advance and quantified.
  • Preparation of required monthly journals, including accruals for Northern Operations & Flight Operations.
  • Timely preparation of any assigned balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring reconciling items are dealt with appropriately.
  • Financial support of day-to-day business operations, including investigation, analysis, and other ad hoc reporting as required.
  • Performing ad hoc analysis of proposals and business cases and their financial viability.
  • Overseeing the raising of all customer invoicing for key revenue contracts in Northern Operations and following up as required.
  • Partnering with stakeholders to provide value-added support and guidance.
  • Assistance in the external audit process, including liaising with auditors and providing clear and accurate support/analysis as required.
  • Assistance with inputs relating to Northern Operations & Flight Operations for the preparation of weekly/monthly cashflow forecasting.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • At least 5 years of post-graduate experience in business planning and commercial analysis in mid to large organisations, preferably in operations.
  • Undergraduate degree in Finance/Accounting.
  • CA/CPA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience in similar roles with strong commercial acumen, analytical, and business partnering skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Advanced Excel and system skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication tailored to the audience.
  • Ability to prioritise and plan workload and be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Proficient with Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Able to work autonomously.
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels (internal and external) and influence stakeholders.
  • Strong customer service mindset with a team player mentality.
  • High degree of professional integrity, proactive with a 'can-do' attitude, demonstrates initiative and willingness to learn.

The following will be highly regarded:

  • Experience using Sage Intacct, Adaptive, and Power BI.
  • Experience in organisations where revenue and/or costs are heavily contract-based and/or labour is a significant business cost driver and complex with awards/EBAs.
  • Some background in Big 4, Mid Tier professional accounting practices as well as commerce.
  • Demonstrated experience in proactively taking steps to improve existing processes, procedures, and systems.
